Ischemia

Ischemia is a deficiency of blood supply to tissues. If the deficiency is sufficiently severe and prolonged, the tissue eventually dies (necrosis).

The most common general cause is a failure of blood flow resulting from obstruction or cardiovascular insufficiency.
