Following points you can consider to control the weight variation of bi-layer tablet:

  • Design the bilayer tablet with weight ratio of the layers between 1:1 and 1:2.
  • Make the granules uniform in size
  • Maintain the pre-compression and main compression force properly.

Following points should be chosen/optimized properly:

  • Physicochemical properties of API and excipients
  • Ratio and sequence of the layer
  • Hardness of tablets
  • Compression force
  • Compression machine speed etc.
